JOURNAL OF ENVIRONMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY

1105

Scope/Description:

The Journal of Environmental Psychology is the premier journal in the field, serving individuals in a wide range of disciplines who have an interest in the scientific study of the transactions and interrelationships between people and their surroundings (including built, social, natural and virtual environments, the use and abuse of nature and natural resources, and sustainability-related behavior). The journal publishes internationally contributed empirical studies and reviews of research on these topics that advance new insights. As an important forum for the field, the journal publishes some of the most influential papers in the discipline that reflect the scientific development of environmental psychology. Contributions on theoretical, methodological, and practical aspects of all human-environment interactions are welcome, along with innovative or interdisciplinary approaches that have a psychological emphasis. Research areas include: •Psychological and behavioral aspects of people and nature •Cognitive mapping, spatial cognition and wayfinding •Ecological consequences of human actions •Theories of place, place attachment, and place identity •Environmental risks and hazards: perception, behavior, and management •Perception and evaluation of buildings and natural landscapes •Effects of physical and natural settings on human cognition and health •Theories of proenvironmental behavior, norms, attitudes, and personality •Psychology of sustainability and climate change •Psychological aspects of resource management and crises •Social use of space: crowding, privacy, territoriality, personal space •Design of, and experiences related to, the physical aspects of workplaces, schools, residences, public buildings and public space

Impact Factor Trend 2000 - 2025

Impact Factor

The impact factor (IF) or journal impact factor (JIF) of an academic journal is a scientometric factor based on the yearly average number of citations on articles published by a particular journal in the last two years. In other words, the impact factor of 2024 - 2025 is the average of the number of cited publications divided by the citable publications of a journal. A journal impact factor is frequently used as a proxy for the relative importance of a journal within its field. Normally, journals with higher impact factors are often deemed to have more influence than those with lower ones. However, the science community has also noted that review articles typically are more citable than research articles. Here you can check the journal performance trends based on last 20 years of data, also check the latest journal citation reports 2025. Other Journal Impact Indicator

Any journal impact factor or scientometric indicator alone will not give you the full picture of a science journal. That’s why every year, scholars review current metrics to improve upon them and sometimes come up with new ones. There are also other factors to sider for example, H-Index, Self-Citation Ratio, SJR (SCImago Journal Rank Indicator) and SNIP (Source Normalized Impact per Paper). Researchers may also consider the practical aspect of a journal such as publication fees, acceptance rate, review speed.
